Whiteware candy dish was made by Knowles, Taylor & Knowles in East Liverpool, Ohio, in Columbiana County. Produced in approximately 1892, this decorative dish is an example of the pottery's Lotus Ware line. It is white and decorated with seashells. The base is designed to look like a circular branch.

Knowles, Taylor & Knowles was founded by Isaac Knowles and Isaac Harvey in 1854 in East Liverpool, Ohio. The partners produced Rockingham and yellow queensware. In 1870, Knowles brought son Homer Knowles and son-in-law John Taylor into the firm and produced whiteware, yellowware and ironstone pieces.
